Dedicated cycle waiting area and signals phase. First time in Norwich and with low level signals.

Some light segregation for cycles, who are the only ones that can go straight ahead here. This layout is probably temporary as it is proposed to close Westlegate (behind the camera) to motor traffic while retaining two way cycling.

Exit from cycle-only Little Bethel Street to Chapelfield North. The footway is continuous and the layout makes it clear that cyclists are crossing the footway.

Much of the centre of Norwich is pedestrianised, with cycle access maintained.

Good clear, deep ASLs on the approach to the Chapelfield Road signalised roundabout ( #18775 ) The central approach cycle lane helps people position correctly.

The central cycle lane helps people to turn right of Unthank Road into Essex St and The Avenues. This is an important link from UEA and the western suburbs to the city centre. Also serving the nearby school.
